The exterior design of this house is a function of necessity. The four foot roof overhangs and tall masonry foundation protect the most vulnerable parts of a wooden home from wet and rot, of which Maine has plenty. The owners are pleased, and interestingly, their permanent home which they built a few years ago has some of these same features. Read more about this common sense design.
